Al Stewart, accompanied by The Empty Pockets, recently illuminated the stage of the venerable Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara, California, elegantly flanked by esteemed special guests, Peter White and Laurence Juber.
A still in wonderful voice Al Stewart returned to a packed Stables, one of the smaller venues on this current tour, this time bringing along a backing band with him Chicago's The Empty Pockets as well as Marc Maccisso who was a supporting saxophone and flute player on several of the songs.
Of course, one 1976 American hit – Year Of The Cat – extended what might have been a respectable but niche 60s/70s folk career into one of considerable crossover and longevity.
