On a miserable winter's day in Auckland at the tail end of the school holidays a throng of eager parents and children descended upon the Mt Eden War Memorial Hall for one of the final performances of singer/songwriter/media personality and bona-fide livewire Anika Moa's children's road show.

There came a moment towards the end of Thursday night's concert when Julia Deans was thanking the audience for coming, and warmly added: "If there's anyone rich in the audience who would like to help us take this show on a world tour, that would be awesome

Billed as “Divas,” Anika Moa and Julia Deans displayed none of the negative traits associated with that label.
