Anita Baker is one of few leading R&B acts to garner critical and musical acclaim with a husky ember tone and jazzy tempo, a pleasant contrast with many of her contemporaries.
And as expected, she had no trouble reaching maximum capacity in both the intimate pavilion and spacious lawn, giving fans a lengthy evening of her most famous songs.
A royalty-related lawsuit from Babyface crept into the picture shortly thereafter, but the songstress hasn't let the drama keep her down, returning to the road on her own in support of her latest Blue Note release, Christmas Fantasy.
