Arbouretum is an American Rock band started in late 2002 by singer/guitarist Dave Heumann of Baltimore, Maryland. Their music has been described as folk rock, doom folk, psychedelic rock, and stoner rock, often blending traditional song-forms and melodies with a heavy, fuzz-based tonality and long, expressive guitar solos.

That promise was fulfilled this month with the release of Song of the Rose, an album that maintains the classic Arbouretum sound while showcasing a band that is still growing and evolving.
The TOTS drummer stands up and bashes away a la Bobby Gillespie in the early JAMC; moustachioed hipsters plug away on laptops; while at intervals a blond, freaky 80s industrial alterno type shreds away on his flying V guitar.
The Kazimier is becoming quite the venue for all that is American hairy and loud and tonight sees Baltimore quartet Arbouretum the latest to plug in and rock out in front of a sadly sparsely populated crowd of fellow razor neglecters.
