Bad Dreems

Led by the enigmatic, yet charismatic frontman and lead singer, Ben Marwe, Bad//Dreems punched its’ way through a raucous set complete with all of the hits and favourite album tracks that have seduced many a casual listener into becoming part of their fanatically loyal fanbase.

Before COVID, before the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, before grunge, the place for live music in Adelaide was the expansive Bridgeway Hotel concert room hidden at the back of the sprawling establishment, situated just north of Grand Junction Road.

‘Bogan Pride’ from Bad//Dreems debut album 'Dogs At Bay' may have been written as commentary or satire of the bogan, but it was clear from the audience in attendance during the final show of the 'Gutful' tour that the title has been taken literally.

I was stuck for words when a friend asked me to describe Bad//Dreems pre-gig.

Last night, however, they performed their final headline show of the year to one of the more ruthless crowds I’ve been a part of in some time.

Everyone did their best to stoke the fires of the crowd drawn in from a late spring storm, and the night focused on some real talent from the seemingly invincible guitar-led rock scene.
