Critic Consensus
Based on 20 concert reviews, the critic consensus is that Bauhaus is rated as a watchable live performer, with decent shows overall. Bauhaus concert reviews describe live shows and performances as memorable, spellbinding, and innovative.
Sadly, this gig plays out against a backdrop of rail and Tube strikes, making it difficult for many fans to get to this part of South London, even from North London, let alone anywhere further afield.
Unlike many of their contemporaries Bauhaus never chose to join any retro circuit, unquestionable integrity, playing their own game and by their own rules. Like any truly great art form the real deal will always shine through.
Peter Murphy, Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins should be forgiven then for having a sense of deja vu as they prepare to take to the stage at Brixton Academy.
Following up from John Robb's recent article regarding why Bauhaus were the true children of Ziggy and the most innovative post punk adventurers, and John Robb's swift summary of the Ally Pally here… Keith Goldhanger attends their delayed London Alexandra Palace show to see if they're still as good as we remember.
