Herbert "Bert" Jansch (3 November 1943 - 5 October 2011) was a Scottish folk musician and founding member of the band Pentangle. He was born in Glasgow and came to prominence in London in the 1960s, as an acoustic guitarist, as well as a singer-songwriter.

Jimmy Page and Neil Young have acknowledged their debts to Jansch's guitar playing and songwriting while artists of more recent vintage queueing to register their support include Bernard Butler Johnny Marr and Noel Gallagher.
Lined up across the stage during the final blues jam was a most unlikely combination of musicians: 1960s survivor Ralph McTell alongside Johnny Marr Bernard Butler Hope Sandoval and assorted members of Mazzy Star and Johnny "Guitar" Hodge.
