black midi are an experimental rock band from London consisting of Morgan Simpson (drums), Matt Kelvin (guitar/vocals), Cameron Picton (bass/vocals), and Geordie Greep (guitar/vocals). They began gaining popularity through touring across Europe, their recent breakthrough into the U.
Before black midi took the stage late Friday night, a pre-recorded message from a futuristic boxing ring declared the arrival of the band. It was a riff on the sports announcer opening of “Sugar/Tzu,” a jazz fusion track from the group’s third and most recent studio album
