Blanco White started as the solo project of neo-folk singer-songwriter and Londoner Josh Edwards (born 21 June 1991) in 2014. After studying guitar in Cádiz (Spain), and later the Andean instrument the charango in Sucre (Bolivia), Edwards’ aim was to begin bringing together elements of Andalusian and Latin American music alongside influences closer to home.

“Have you got bin chickens up here as well? That’s so mean you guys call them that, they’re great!”
The evenings venue is tucked away on the western edge of Hackney. Accessed through an unassuming door, the renovated auditorium is enjoying its second year of a new life.
A project started by Josh Edwards back in 2014 and now signed to the fast-rising Yucatan Records, the output is a seductive blend of Spanish and flamenco-inspired guitar tones and ethereal string and vocal textures.
