The avant garde rock spectacle played the first of two nights at DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids with ardent fans ‘moving, laughing and reacting’ to the Blue Man Group’s colorful hijinks.
After more than 25 years and 25 million viewers globally, BMG has become known for spectacle-driven shows comprising experimental percussive music, comedy, multimedia and, of course, a trio of silent, bald, blue men.
In the latest edition – which opened at the Orpheum Theatre Monday and continues through tonight – there were food gags, concert jibes and a fairly substantial bit about new media.
