Braids put forward a robust sound punctuated by Standell-Preston's soaring vocals: her ability to convey angst and emotion while nearly belting offered multiple stunning moments throughout the night.
Currently supporting this year's Deep in the Iris the three-piece have never sounded so assured and their show is a shining example of their musical growth and confidence.
Even though the weather has dipped below the optimal early spring weather for the past week the inside of the Horseshoe Tavern had more than enough heat to go around.
There's a sweeping quality to Braids' music, and this translates particularly well on stage.
