CeeLo came to initial prominence as a member of the southern hip hop group Goodie Mob, and as part of the soul duo Gnarls Barkley with Danger Mouse.

It's more than a decade since Thomas Callaway, aka Cee Lo Green, left Atlanta crew Goodie Mob, but he's true to the hip-hop tradition of being late on stage.
I'll try not to waste too much of your time‚ he twice assured the audience as his all-female band struggled to communicate the nuances of his mercurial funk-soul through a sludgy sound mix.
