Jamar Rolando McNaughton, popularly known as Chronixx, is a Jamaican reggae artist. His stage name replaced the name "Little Chronicle" which he was given because of his father, the singer "Chronicle".
After becoming a huge part of the global mainstream between 1972 and 1981 Rastafarian musical culture suffered a hammer blow with Bob Marley’s death but it has never really gone away.
These are exciting times for reggae fans. With Jamaica producing a fresh generation of young stars, and established acts like Buju Banton, Capelton and Sizzla enjoying a purple patch, there is a lot of great music out there.
I've been going to shows at Brixton Academy for years, and I've never seen queues as long as they were when Chronixx came to town to complete the UK leg of his world tour.
The scores of Rastafarian flags flying in the usually sedate courtyard at Somerset House were a testament to how much London loves Chronixx. Each time he's played in the capital his shows have sold out, and the Neoclassical building made the perfect setting for a summertime evening concert...
