Those arriving early were treated to a lustrous and solid DJ set from Ed Banger records SebastiAn playing on an ingeniously constructed stage located behind the soundboard.
If you didn't know it before, you'd know it pretty much as soon as you caught sight of the two massive queues snaking across the gorgeous Rock Ness festival site to get into the already rammed tent that the French duo are set to play.
Admittedly one can easily feel a little dubious about how a band can act as a tribute to a band let alone one that requires such an intense focus on perfecting mixing abilities all under the heavy guise of helmets that Daft Punk are known for.
After a four-act bill that stretched la-a-a-te into the sweltering school night, you were jonesing for music that'd connect with your emotions and senses - not test the limits of your capacity for critical thought.
For me it was the second of silence in which I took a breath and out shot Da Funk from within the pyramid stage set-up catapulting me back onto my mother's couch around the age of 15.
The pyramid exploded with vivid imagery fueled by the band's thumping mix of crushing synths and feverish sampling, and served as the centerpiece of the duo's space-age deconstruction.
