After 20 years of touring as the lead singer/songwriter of indie rock mainstays the National he's managed to channel his vulnerable poet laureate persona into veritable rock star swagger.
After hearing it had increased at a few New York City venues following the Paris terrorist attack on Friday I expected there to be at least some noticeable difference.
Along with El Vy, we were treated to opening performances from the truly amazing Julien Baker and Wye Oak, probably one of the better pair of openers you’ll ever be lucky enough to call openers.
