Euros Childs (born 1975 in Freshwater East, Wales) is a Welsh singer/songwriter who was the lead singer, keyboardist and songwriter for psychedelic folk group Gorky's Zygotic Mynci from their formation in 1991 until their breakup in 2006. He is the brother of the band's violinist Megan Childs, who frequently collaborates with him.
Beloved of John Cale, the Welsh eccentrics successfully combined their love of melodic pop, melancholic folk and psychedelia on the likes of Barafundle, Gorky 5 and Spanish Dance Troupe.
It’s over a quarter of a century now since Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci were formed in Ysgol Bro Myrddin, Carmarthen but you wouldn’t know it to look at their eternally youthful frontman Euros Childs.
The evening started well upstairs under Leaf’s fairy lights, as the artist formerly known as Thomas McConnell took the stage with his new band, new songs, a totally new sound, a new record deal, and yes, a new name.
