Goran Bregovic Booming bass and a shrunken band, but the charm remains
Although he doesn't actually come from a Gypsy family his international career has been based around reworking Gypsy styles for the mass market – and doing so despite complaints of plagiarism to which he answers "I borrow from traditional material".
Each of them would have made for a fine show on their own, but together, and led by the Serbian superstar Bregovic, they made for a rich and soul-nourishing night of music.
