Half Moon Run

With their latest album, this band have come back to those unmistakable melodies

They played groovy, heartland rock songs complete with guitar solos; alt-country numbers that featured slide guitars; atmospheric, slow spacey songs; noisy kraut songs and some wavy psych stuff. After one of their new songs, which was acoustic and cosmic in equal parts, a fan screamed, Yeehaw!

The audience was palpably teeming; shifting from foot to foot impatiently while standing shoulder to shoulder with a full house of Half Moon Run’s fans.

I’m the type of person that feeds off the energy of the crowd, and so the idea of staying relatively stationary for the entirety of a concert makes me a little nauseous.

Yes, I went along to their Koko show (read all about that one here) and immediately went out and grabbed tickets for this Roundhouse follow-up as soon as it was announced.

The Chalk Farm concert was slated to be the band’s single most important gig to date and simply put they smashed it.
