The film composing giant stunned London's O2 last night with a relentlessly spectacular tour de force through his incredible back catalogue from Gladiator and Pirates of the Caribbean to James Bond and Inception, before proposing to his partner live on stage.
Despite being one of Hollywood's most successful producers, for many years Hans Zimmer didn't enjoy the same popularity of the likes of Danny Elfman, James Horner and John Williams.
Hans Zimmer returned to Brisbane at the Entertainment Centre (3 October), and he put on a show like no other: captivating, thrilling, and a little bit rock and roll.
The last time Hans Zimmer’s music was showcased at the Hydro, mainstream Hollywood’s most experimental film composer was there in person to play it with his rambunctious band (which included a guest spot for Johnny Marr).
It’s not often you get the opportunity to experience an evening packed with live film scores from an award-winning composer who can boast their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but if the chance should ever come along, do not miss it.
