Unsurprisingly for an artist of the stature of Harry Connick, Jr., this writer has known of him for seemingly forever – but always as background music of sorts, filed away somewhat dismissively as a Frank Sinatra-Esque heartthrob crooner.
Most people not only dont know much about him, but dont know who he was, Connick Jr. explained not long into his 110-minute performance before a near-capacity audience at Winspear Opera House on Sunday night.
If you’ve never had the pleasure of experiencing New Orleans music and culture in its colorful grandeur you need nothing more than to spend an evening with Harry Connick Jr.
