Bossa Nova Nights: Alpert and Hall Serenade the Lobero
A well-produced evening of jazz and song, featuring Herb Alpert of Tijuana Brass fame (trumpet) and has wife Lani Hall (singer). The headliners performed with their jazz trio: Bill Cantos on keyboards, Hussain Jiffry on bass, and Michael Shapiro on drums.
His sold-out Scullers show seemed to be full of people in the same boat or maybe the same yacht: an older crowd in upscale-casual dress who appeared to be ordering nothing but white wine and brandy from the bar.
