Marcus Jamal Hopson (born July 18, 1985), better known by his stage name Hopsin, is an American rapper, record producer, director and actor from Los Angeles, California. In 2007, he was signed to Ruthless Records, and had founded his own record label, Funk Volume, in 2009.
He’s been able to grow his fan base with his critically acclaimed 2010 album, Raw, his “Ill Mind Of Hopsin” Youtube series (with over 37 million views on Part 5), and most recently, his new Knock Madness album.
Spitting in the eye of the industry with bravado, with each artist on the Funk Volume Tour boasting about their independent status, the night belonged to the new generation of underground stars.
