Critic Consensus
Based on 5 concert reviews, the critic consensus is that Lauren Housley is rated as a remarkable live performer, with impressive shows that are worth watching.
The persistent rain may have put a damper on proceedings for the weekend's bonfire festivities but it clearly was no deterrent for the enthusiastic congregation that had crammed into Lincolnshire's premier Americana Music venue at the Town Hall, Kirton in Lindsey to witness the return of Lauren Housley
First impressions were really good, a real ale welcoming pub atmosphere, a separate room for live entertainment and reasonable drinks prices, a good start to the night.
It's been five years since Lauren Housley last appeared at Lincolnshire's premier Americana music venue though tonight's show should have taken place this time last year as part of Housley's nationwide tour to promote her latest album ‘Girl From The North', only for the gig to be cancelled due to ill health.
First up was Manchester's Robbie Cavanagh who also plays guitar in Laurens's band. Robbie's solo career already has many accolades and I can see why. As Robbie began his performance you could hear a pin drop, soaring vocals and intricate guitar work followed.
Of the many albums released during lockdown, Lauren Housley's ‘Girl From the North' is one to be savoured live. From the Americana and country core of her first two albums, Housley has added New Orleans blues and soul and even some psychedelic folk to her repertoire.
