Le Butcherettes Left This Writer Absolutely Stunned At The Turf Club
Now, I know there's a lot of deeply tedious discussion about what is and what is not punk, and even on a music blog no one wants to read this discussion.
There’s something about a small stage that a place like Red Rocks or Madison Square Garden can’t replace. The intimacy of being right there in front of a band you might have driven for hours to see (like someone in the crowd who had come in from Williamsburg, more than two hours away) is an experience like no other.
Led by founding member and singer/guitarist/keyboardist Teri Gender Bender, Le Butcherettes slaughtered a sold-out crowd at DC9 Nightclub recently. This fearless musical force is another one of those bands that I never miss an opportunity to catch performing live.
