Critic Consensus
Based on 20 concert reviews, the critic consensus is that Liam Finn is rated as a decent live performer, with shows that lack distinction. Liam Finn concert reviews describe live shows and performances as evocative, lovely, and melodic.
Born in Australia, but moved to New Zealand as a child, Liam Finn's passion for music begins as early as childhood as the son to Neil Finn (of Split Enz and Crowded House fame), and nephew to kiwi rock legend Tim Finn. Liam attended Auckland high school Selwyn College.
He’s never shied away from his lineage displaying his Crowded House (QRO live review) ancestry in his stage name proudly (even pulling a late-aughts stretch on guitar in dad Neil’s band).
With a full band now in tow I was weary fearing that with others to fall back on to create sound Liam Finn would not up to the intensity and energy that characterised his solo shows.
The 27-year-old singer-songwriter is the son of Neil Finn the frontman of veteran melodic rockers Crowded House and thus obliged to prove he is neither merely a chip off the old block nor the lazy beneficiary of music industry nepotism.
