Reminiscent of a mad scientist, Methyl Ethel's precision and concentration is such an intimate thing to witness.
Methyl Ethel has been trying to tour for the past two years, but leaving Western Australia proved to be an issue with all of the lockdowns. So his Brisbane show at Fortitude Music Hall marked Jake Webb (aka Methyl Ethel) and his band's first gig out of the 6000 postcode, and it felt like a big celebratory moment.
It's been an alluring three nights for any fans of dreamesque Indie rock in Melbourne, as Methyl Ethyl and their haunting opening act, Ash Baroque & Les Fleurs d'Ombre spent their evenings at the Night Cat.
Last night (21 April) Methyl Ethel played The Fortitude Music Hall performing their latest album 'Are You Haunted?' live for the first time in Brisbane.
