Mick Harvey & Amanda Acevedo brought their Australian/Mexican musical collaboration to Auckland on a balmy Sunday night.
One of the positive outcomes from the rethink and reconstruction that occurred post-pandemic was the genesis of the Small Hall Sessions. A concept truly unique in its particular application, whereby musicians ply their trade in the heart of Hawkes Bay's diverse communities.
So it’s probably small beer for him to face a small but irritating army of chatterers who sound like they’ve stumbled in from a hen party and threaten to spoil the gig.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the vibe at Mick Harvey’s show at Auckland’s Tuning Fork was similar in tone to Nick Cave’s solo shows this past December…just smaller in scale.
His influence on our country’s music as unquestionable much like his prodigious talent as a multi-instrumentalist record producer composer and singer-songwriter.
