Peter "Hooky" Hook (born February 13, 1956 in Salford, Greater Manchester, UK) was the bassist for the English post-punk band Joy Division (1977-1980), and New Order (1980-1993 & 1998-2007). Hook was a co-founder of Joy Division along with Bernard Sumner in 1976.

After a decade-long hiatus, Guildford’s leading music festival, GuilFest made a triumphant return to its home ground of Stoke Park. Joining the reunion, bassist and co-founder of seminal bands Joy Division and New Order, Peter Hook and his band The Light graced the main stage on the last day of this milestone weekender
Peter Hook & The Light gave me the best Wednesday evening I have had in a long time. We all had smiles on our faces from the most well crafted, well rehearsed fan service you'll ever find.
On the 44th anniversary of Ian Curtis’s suicide, it feels a little strange to be once again experiencing Peter Hook and his very own embodiment of Joy Division and New Order in Tamaki Makaurau. It now takes a lot more than one hand to count how many times Hooky has visited and performed in Aotearoa.
Peter Hook & the Light are on their fourth or fifth tour of Aotearoa/New Zealand since 2010 when they formed three years after his colleagues in New Order gave him the cold shoulder.
