For Reb’s return to Melbourne, The Brunswick Ballroom offers a classy candlelight dinner and show experience. Framed by heavy red velvet curtains and decorated with chandeliers and a giant disco ball, the venue holds a special cabaret feel attracting old and young audience.
After a period of mid-winter hibernation, the Small Hall Sessions are back, baby! And with the sublime Reb Fountain, with full band in tow, kicking off the re-awakening, one would have to say that the future is looking very bright indeed.
Reb Fountain at The Powerstation on a Saturday night in Auckland…does it get any better than this? The Powerstation has been on a roll lately hosting acts from The Damned to Weyes Blood. It’s great to see that live music is thriving in New Zealand, both with local acts and international.
I first came across Reb Fountain through her breathtaking mash up of controversial song ‘Blurred Lines’ by Robin Thicke and Pharrell williams, and Nirvanas ‘Rape Me’. Since canceled due to lyrics that clearly undermine sexual consent, ‘Blurred Lines’ was a hit song in the early teen.
The “Taster Series” previewing this year's Hawkes Bay Arts Festival has now concluded, on a note that leaves palates fully appetised and anticipating the full board of fare on the horizon.
