Screaming Females, Iron Chic, and Paper Bee at Union Transfer in Philadelphia, PA, USA
On the second of two sold-out nights at Saint Vitus Bar in Brooklyn, Screaming Females played a lightning-speed and volcanic-energy set. Several songs followed the loud-soft-loud dynamic that became popular in the 1990s rock, while many other songs were designed to just rock loud, fast and hard.
New Jersey darlings Screaming Females returned to our shores last night for the first time in three years, their brand-new album All at Once part of their current repertoire that they dropped on the audience like a ten-tonne brick.
None of Screaming Females’ three albums and scattered other releases since have threatened to make them huge, but sheer persistence, an inherent affability and lush tunes spiked with has accrued them some card-carrying fans.
