Shalamar’s “Second Time Around” in The Venue At Horseshoe Casino was “A Night To Remember”
American R & B and soul group, Shalamar, came to the Royal Concert Hall on Tuesday night to take their fans on a trip down memory lane. Best known for their hits in the 1970's and 80's, they were originally created by Soul Train TV producer and host Don Cornelius and talent promoter Dick Griffey back in 1977.
It wasn’t clear whether they were simply an easy-to-please crowd (the kind who just can’t make their feet behave once they hear a bit of George Benson) or if they were so excited they just couldn’t hide it.
Just the first few bars of their distinctive disco/funk is enough to get the foot tapping and the head bobbing such is the infectious nature of their music.
