The 60-year-old sovereign of soul beamed and laughed seeming like she could have been the 16-year-old version of herself a gospel singer who grew up in Brooklyn.
Watching the soul singer on the silver screen couldn't compare to witnessing the airtight Saturday evening performance from herself and the Dap Kings, one that truly captured the power of soul music.
They performed a slick instrumental before Sharon Jones hit the stage dropping a ton of soul excitement on the modestly assembled crowd early in the drizzly afternoon.
