“Shawn-y Came Home”: Shawn Colvin at Sweetwater Music Hall
It was fitting that the two pros were unaccompanied by a backup band or anything flashy and Earle's iconic reputation provided all the hype needed in the lead-up to the show.
Every year Shawn Colvin returns to Yoshi’s Jazz Club in San Francisco for a three-day residency, in which she delves into her entire oeuvre, providing a smattering of songs from almost every album of her career.
From her Grammy-winning debut Steady On (1989) to 2006’s These Four Walls, Colvin has sung the story of her life with a disarming blend of melancholy and poetic mischievousness, yet rounded it all out by making her journey utterly relatable.
