By special request, the Americana veteran is dusting off her 2008 tribute at the Dakota for two nights.

The sisters are finally touring as a unit after years as solo acts of separate-but-equal esteem.

And that was on display during Shelby Lynne's opening night gig just two days after releasing "I Can't Imagine.

She has a voice that rivals anyone in terms of control, clarity and power, with a honeyed Southern twang used to good effect.

Early in her 20-year-plus career, she only recorded songs written by other songwriters, and it wasn't until a few albums into her career that Lynne began to pen her songs.

Sisters Shelby Lynne and Allison Moorer are two of the most accomplished singer-songwriters in the contemporary country and Americana scene. The Alabama natives both possess remarkable gifts as writers and are among the finest vocalists working today.
