Sufjan Stevens was set to play his new exotic album Planetarium as part of the summer evening concert series at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
One of the ways he coped was to trawl his childhood memories and pour his sense of loss into this year’s album ‘Carrie & Lowell’, titled after his mother and stepfather.
Of course, it’s to be expected of Sufjan, that his music presents such delicately evocative narratives and especially with his latest album Carrie & Lowell, there’s some intensely personal stories to be told.
