Bio
Sunny War is American folk-punk musician Sydney Lyndella Ward. Born in Nashville, she is currently based in LA. While clearly the product of a very young woman, War has the sob and throb of Billie Holiday — if Lady Day had emerged in Mississippi and not Harlem during the Depression. As if Bukka White, not Lester Young, were her mentor.

The Harold & Irene Walton Theatre, the intimate listening room housed within Bellingham’s Mt. Baker Theatre, has hosted world-renowned and influential musicians – Bob Mould, Karla Bonoff, and Loudon Wainwright, to name only a few — for its Lookout Sessions series.
Creatively illustrating heartbreak and other crucial, even if paralyzing, human emotions is the sign of a masterful musician. And there's no way to fabricate any level of that understanding — only persevering through hardships can empower someone with such an apprised view of this world.
