Bio
Translated as "simple" in Welsh, SYML is the creation of Brian Fennell, Seattle-native and founding member of the band Barcelona. With a keen grasp on textural and emotive songwriting, Fennell combines bare piano, minimalist synth and string-scapes, and etherial vocals to create the sounds of SYML.

Dressed in flowing white and evoking a kind of angelic folklore, Dutch artist néomí captivated the audience from the moment she softly declared, “I don’t believe in a God I can’t see.” It was an arresting opener, introducing a set full of emotional weight.

So I generally try to go to a concert educated on the music, but this time I fell short. I attended the Dermot Kennedy show on relatively short notice, and in doing so I failed in familiarizing myself with Kennedy's music which allowed me to attend his show with a clear, unbiased perspective.

Rounding out the last night of the UK tour with a fan favourite, the singer crooned a wistful cover of Mr Sandman by the Chordettes from the side of the stage.
