The Academic is an indie/rock band from Mullingar, Ireland. The band formed when the members were in their early teens and preform many live shows in order to build a bigger following.
A night of musical magic was in store, when recent Hot Press cover stars The Academic took the stage at a special Hot Press Windmill Live series gig on Thursday. And so it proved, as the band celebrated the success of their latest No.1 Irish album, Sitting Pretty.
Supported by Ellen Sleator, Westmeath band The Academic's first time headlining Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre on Friday, December 3, was a smashing success.
A Friday night in Vicar Street is places, isn’t it? This is the group’s biggest headline show to date, and there’s a bit of a celebratory atmosphere pervading the room all evening.
