Critic Consensus
Based on 31 concert reviews, the critic consensus is that The Avalanches is rated as an enjoyable live performer, with decent shows overall. The Avalanches concert reviews describe live shows and performances as funky, eccentric, and energized.
The Avalanches released their debut album Since I Left You in 2000 to critical acclaim. Created from countless music and film samples, it was a grand musical collage, creating orchestral sounds from layers of disparate noises.
But although it was 2016’s ‘Wildflower’ on my mind at The Tivoli Theatre in Brisbane (8 March), the venue was palpably packed with fans from all stages (or both stages, more accurately) of their career.
The Northern Broadwalk (still the most criminally underused gig location in the city) was transformed into a dancefloor, blessed with clear skies and mercifully free from rubberneckers, and energised with multiple talented artists.
