Critic Consensus
Based on 10 concert reviews, the critic consensus is that The Bangles is rated as an impressive live performer, with many notable strengths. The Bangles concert reviews describe live shows and performances as nostalgic and electrifying.
The Bangles were one of the new generation of independent all-women bands that followed The Go-Go's in the early 1980s. Consisting of Susanna Hoffs (guitar, vocals), Debbi Peterson (drums, vocals), sister Vicki Peterson (guitar, vocals,) and Annette Zilinskas, who was later replaced by Michael Steele, (bass, vocals).
Coco Love Alcorn is back with a sparkling new album, Wonderland (which spent several weeks at or near the top of Canada’s folk charts), a grueling tour involving venues large and small and some choral surprises.
It was electrifying to watch Hoffs and the Petersons rock out in the bridges and deliver their brilliant covers of songs like Katrina and the Waves’ Going Down to Liverpool and Big Star’s September Gurls (the latter of which they performed recently at one of the Big Star tribute shows in Los Angeles).
But this weekend, those who were in the know nearly a decade before me, packed The Fonda for a historic Paisley Underground reunion featuring The Bangles, The Three O’Clock, Dream Syndicate, and The Rain Parade.
