The Hoosiers are an English pop rock band formed in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 2003 and relocated to Yatton, Somerset. The band consists of members Irwin Sparkes (lead vocals, lead guitar) and John Mann (drums, percussion, vocals).
Their encore finishes up with a revitalising juxtaposition of fast numbers and slow melodies – and the pacing works fantastically well. Six months later, two biggish singles, both of them infuriatingly catchy earworms, helped push the newly released “The Trick to Life” album into the platinum zone.
The View, Kaiser Chiefs, Hard-Fi, Editors and The Enemy had all topped the album charts in 2007 before The Hoosiers took their brand of oddpop to number one with their debut album The Trick To Life .
Following their double platinum selling number one album The Trick to Life in 2007 the follow up The Illusion of Safety limped to number ten in the charts before dropping like a stone.
