Country Duo The Shires (with Eric Paslay) Light Up York’s Barbican Theatre
As a seated event, this show was really all about the audience relishing in the soundscapes, though that didn’t stop many taking to their feet to dance and sing-along.
The annual C2C festival held in London, Glasgow and Dublin has helped encourage the growth and subsequently saw the fastest selling and highest chart reaching album by a UK country act: The Shires.
This was the first concert that I’ve seen in St David’s Hall and I won’t pretend I wasn’t sceptical about the all-seated arrangement; that having everyone sat down might detract from the energy of The Shires’ music.
