Critic Consensus
Based on 27 concert reviews, the critic consensus is that The Soft Moon is rated as a decent live performer, with shows that lack distinction. The Soft Moon concert reviews describe live shows and performances as boisterous, satisfying, and incredible.
The Soft Moon is a San Francisco based neo-post-punk band composed of Luis Vasquez (singer/songwriter/guitar/synthesizers), Justin Anastasi (bass), Damon Way (synthesizers) and Ron Robinson (visuals). Keven Tecon joined the band as a drummer in early 2012.
On the prior releases that he recorded under the moniker the Soft Moon, Vasquez allowed his dread to envelop his songs, keeping his rage on at a simmer.
With a scattershot of noise and an urgent, shadowy vocal, The Soft Moon launched the band’s recent show at the Rock and Roll Hotel, setting the tone for an evening of looking within to unearth pain and sorrow.
In his recordings, Oakland, California’s The Soft Moon, aka Luis Vasquez, sounds distant and submerged, stitching together a mosaic of murky shapes on frameless canvasses.
