This time around, it was Manchester’s four-piece The Covasettes who had the opening spotlight — and they didn’t waste it. Their indie surf-rock sound, laced with bright pop hooks and flashes of disco, was a confident introduction.
The Zutons, a Liverpudlian indie band that formed in 2002, separated in 2009, but reformed in 2018 were at Rock City on Monday night, to celebrate the release of their fourth studio album in sixteen years, The Big Decider. Produced by Nile Rodgers and Ian Broudie the band showcased six new songs which went down a storm
I'ma goin' out, sick of stayin' in, off to see The Zutons at Rock City. Go 'ed don't be a divvy it'll be a sound gig. And don't swerve the support acts either soft lad.
