Providing further vindication, if it was needed, of the organisers' determination to press ahead in the face of adversity, negativity and Covidity, Thomas Oliver has set the bar for this, the sixth iteration of the Harcourts Hawkes Bay Arts Festival, with a homecoming performance of truly world-class standard.
Finishing off an Australasian tour at the Powerstation last night Thomas Oliver performed a slick, entertaining and musically fantastic set. With opening support by fellow Wellingtonian Solomon Crook it was an evening of indie inspired rhythm and blues with a rock and pop twist to a very mixed crowd
Wellington based singer-songwriter Thomas Oliver may not be a name that you have heard before, however to those in the know he is instantly recognisable as one of the “world's leading players of the Weissenborn lap steel guitar”.
