Thunder (with Ugly Kid Joe, Massive Wagons) Leave Leeds First Direct Arena Thunderstruck
One of the UK’s most underrated hard rock bands – though packing out much of Wembley Arena more than 30 years after they first got together is a pretty impressive feat – Thunder brought their UK tour to a close with a setlist that lay heavily towards their latest album, Dopamine.
Billed as the Please Remain Seated tour, the setting for tonight’s gig with Brit rockers Thunder was more reminiscent of those MTV Unplugged gigs than it was to, in the words of Thunder frontman Danny Bowes, a proper Thunder rock gig.
IT’S a long way from the beer, sweat, mud and flying bottles of liquid you wouldn’t want to drink that was the Monster of Rock festival at Donington Park in 1990 - when Thunder announced themselves to the masses as Britain’s best up-coming heavy rock band.
Terrorvision always enjoyed a reputation for pleasingly rambunctious performance, while seemingly 75% of Thunder’s career has been built on their reputation for being one of the finest proponents of the hard rock experience.
