Tristen, Jenny O pack killer one-two punch at Resident

On the heels of her fizzy 2017 release Sneaker Waves, Tristen might have stuck behind her signature keyboard for the entirety of the show, but instead, we were treated to a more rock and roll, guitar-heavy set, with no keys and no synth.

Yet, on the heels of the release of her third studio record, Sneaker Waves, six years later, Tristen’s music may still very well be under wraps.

In addition to selections from Sneaker Waves, Tristen’s set also leaned heavily on material from her debut album Charlatans at the Garden Gate.

As a rule of practice, concert reviewing should not involve a review of the venue. It is the acts that are important—not whatever place they happened to perform in.
