The vibe shifts noticeably in anticipation of the Brooklyn-based sextet The White Rabbits and as they drift onstage they were met with an uncertain reception.
A liquid amorphous constantly shifting thing impossible to tie down impossible to explain via the rules that we mortal men rely on to make sense of this crazy mixed up world we call home.
After dazzling crowds at Falls Festival and in Sydney the previous night (see Larry’s link) expectations were high and so was the vibrancy and anticipation the moments before the sextuplet took the stage.
With 2 EPs under their belt a shitload of touring behind them and new single Moonlight Hours receiving a good amount of airtime The Holidays are finally ready to launch into a territory that few local bands make it to: releasing a debut album.
On their long-awaited follow-up the just-released It’s Frightening (QRO review) the six-piece took a major step forward in artistic skill but Frightening is not as immediately accessible as Nightly even if it holds up better in the long term.
