Bio
Wildbirds & Peacedrums are a contemporary experimental two piece hailing from Sweden consisting of singer Mariam Wallentin and drummer Andreas Werliin. Their 'instruments' consist of her powerful vocals and his unorthodox percussion/drumming, resulting in a powerful, innovative sound.

The Swedish husband-and-wife team Andreas Werliin and Mariam Wallentin weave spells with percussion and voice: Wallentin huskily intoning as her spouse attacks his drumkit with alternate restraint and abandon.

Don’t let their jazz school educations; Andreas Werliin’s inventive percussive lines, or Mariam Wallentin’s artful vocal-slurs, tell you any different.

The turnout at the Waldorf for the Gothenburg duo's latest Vancouver show started off disappointing low, no doubt owing to the fact that half of Vancouver was downtown celebrating the Canucks' victory in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals.
