Xiu Xiu (pronounced "shoo shoo") is an American experimental group, formed in 2002 in San Jose, California by original members Jamie Stewart, Lauren Andrews, Yvonne Chen, and Cory McCulloch. Currently, the line-up consists of Jamie Stewart (the only constant member since formation) and Angela Seo.

Now here’s a scoop, the much adored, two-decade parade that is US experimental rock band Xiu Xiu are in town at the ACCA and there is a murmur of expectation in the venue’s roomy bar. A sold out gig and one of only a handful in the UK for the band so you’d expect anticipation to be high but there’s something more.
Twin Peaks, the cult 90s murder mystery show created by auteur David Lynch, was defined by it’s atmosphere. At once it was homely and warm, but then it could cut you in half with its utter tragedy and brutality.
The setting itself was imposing: an enormous 18th century church located on its own considerable grounds now doubling as a 1400-capacity live music venue.
